Kristi Noem revealed that she has no interest in challenging Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) for his job and pledged on Tuesday to run for another term as governor in 2022. “[Thune] is a friend of mine, and I will not be challenging him,” the Republican governor wrote on Twitter Tuesday night. “I’m honored to be Governor of South Dakota and will ask the people to give me an opportunity to continue serving them as Governor in 2022.” A former congresswoman from South Dakota, Noem expended her national profile in recent years as a vocal ally of Trump.
